Up until recently, insulin drug companies have priced gauged Americans for the medication needed to stay alive. This recent development is huge and while insulin should always be accessible to everyone (no matter the circumstance); this can certainly help many during these uncertain times.
First, earlier this month Eli Lilly put in place a program called the Lilly Insulin Value Program. This program provides a discount to patients to pay no more than $35 for their insulin. This program includes people with diabetes that have no insurance or high deductibles. The company plans to keep this program in full affect for at least the remainder of the year.
Now this week, Novo Nordisk rolls out a FREE 90-day supply of insulin to patients that have lost their health insurance benefits during this pandemic.
Who Is Eligible
Anyone who has lost health care coverage due to the pandemic may be eligible to enroll in the company’s Diabetes Patient Assistance Program and receive free insulin as a 90 day supply without having to show proof of income.
